Getting started
Quickstart: your first monitor in 5 minutes
Create a monitor for an endpoint you own so GetPulseCheck can begin reporting its availability and response time.
Before you begin
- Sign in to your GetPulseCheck account.
- Have a URL, hostname, or host and port ready to monitor.
Create the monitor
- From the dashboard, select New Monitor.
- Enter the target in URL or hostname. A value beginning with
http://orhttps://creates an HTTP monitor. A plain hostname or IPv4 address creates a Ping monitor. A host and port such asdb.example.com:5432creates a TCP monitor. - Review the detected monitor type. If the target needs a different type, select the manual type option and choose HTTP, Ping, or TCP port.
- Complete the configuration. Give the monitor a clear name, select the check interval and probe regions, then review the type-specific settings. The default interval is 5 minutes and the minimum supported interval is 60 seconds.
- Select Create Monitor. The success screen confirms that the monitor is active and lets you open its details.
Verify the result
Open the monitor details after its first checks arrive. You should see the current status, response time, and the regions that reported the result.
