Team & collaboration

Understand the three collaboration roles

GetPulseCheck recommends a deliberately small roster so incident response stays grounded. Three roles cover the first collaboration layer the dashboard needs; the Team workspace teaches this model even before team management is enabled.

The three roles

  1. Service owner. The responder closest to the monitors, dependencies, and recent deploys tied to the service that is failing. They acknowledge first and drive diagnosis.
  2. Backup reviewer. Provides confirmation, investigates adjacent monitors, and keeps the primary owner from operating alone when impact grows.
  3. Public communicator. Translates internal incident stages into clear customer updates on the status page and in stakeholder reports, so customers receive one consistent narrative.

When each role engages

  • The service owner engages first — they already know the service, its dependencies, and the recent deploy history.
  • The backup reviewer widens coverage once Ashburn, San Jose, Stockholm, or Tokyo confirm the incident is more than local noise.
  • The public communicator owns external updates from the first customer-facing message through resolution.

The dashboard frames this as a tiered escalation model with regional handoff across four probe cities. Pair the roster with an escalation policy so each tier reaches the right responder on a schedule.

What is not available yet

Team management is not enabled yet. Invitations, saved role assignments, and a shared collaboration timeline are empty states in the Team workspace; the page teaches the model above rather than enforcing it.
