Monitors
Choose the monitor type that matches the target
Select the check that measures the signal you need: an HTTP response, host reachability, or a TCP connection.
Available monitor types
- HTTP/HTTPS monitors request a URL and validate the response. You can check status codes, response content, response time, and SSL certificate validation.
- Ping monitors use ICMP to measure whether a hostname or IP address responds. Configure latency, packet loss, packet size, timeout, and retries.
- TCP port monitors open a TCP connection to a host and port. Configure the connection timeout, retries, expected response, and connection-time threshold.
Where SSL checks fit
SSL certificate validation is an option on an HTTP/HTTPS monitor, not a separate monitor type. It is enabled by default and is configured in the HTTP monitor form.
Choose a type
- Start with a URL, hostname, or host and port in the monitor creation flow.
- Review the detected type or choose one manually.
- Open the type-specific guide to configure its thresholds and checks.
